You see this notification pop up from Trend Micro Home Network Security when you use a Davolink router:

"Router Password Disclosure"

Why did this happen?

The administrator password of your Davolink DVW-3200N router has been disclosed. The device generates a weak password that can be easily cracked, allowing a remote attacker to obtain the password for the device.

What are its risks?

This vulnerability makes it possible for attackers to run any remote actions but not only limited to the following:

  • Administrator privileges
  • Perform network attacks

What should I do next?

  • Change the default password of the router and create a much stronger password. Show me how.
  • Download the latest update from your router’s website. Show me how.

What if I have more questions?
