Microsoft made a commitment to provide 10 years of product support for Windows 7 when it was released on October 22, 2009. When it ended, Microsoft discontinued Windows 7 support so that we can focus our investment on supporting newer technologies and great new experiences. The specific end of support day for Windows 7 was on January 14, 2020. Technical assistance and software updates from Windows Update that help protect your PC is no longer available. Microsoft strongly recommends that you move to the latest Windows version to avoid a situation where you need service or support that is no longer available.

Trend Micro End of Support for Windows 7

Trend Micro continues to recommend that users upgrade to the latest supported version of an OS as soon as possible, but also understands that not everyone is able to upgrade on a regular basis, especially on older machines. In order to help our consumers safely upgrade to the latest operating system, Trend Micro Security 2020 line of products and Trend Micro Password Manager can still be installed to Windows 7 machines but with limited technical support for issues that might be encountered.

Upgrade to the latest operating system version

According to Microsoft, to take advantage of the latest hardware capabilities, they recommend moving to a new PC with Windows 11. As an alternative, compatible Windows 7 PCs can be upgraded by purchasing and installing a full version of the software.
