Full Disk Access Error for Trend Micro on Mac: How To Fix

Overview

To use Trend Micro Antivirus for Mac, you need to setup “Full Disk Access” after installation. This message may appear in the following cases:

• If the “Full Disk Access” setting was not completed during the initial installation
• If a macOS update requires you to configure “Full Disk Access” again
• If Trend Micro Antivirus for Mac update requires you to configure “Full Disk Access” again

What To Do

Please follow the steps below to configure Full Disk Access.

1. When the following pop-up appears, click Allow.
2. When the following screen appears, click Open Full Disk Access.
3. On the following screen, find “Trend Micro Antivirus for Mac", "Trend Micro Antivirus Extension”", "iCoreServiceLauncher", and enable each of them.
   Note:
   • iCoreService is different from iCoreServiceLauncher
   • iCoreServiceLauncher may not be displayed as it depends on your environment.

What to do if “iCoreServiceLauncher” is not displayed?

1. Click Show more details on the Full Disk Access settings screen in Trend Micro Antivirus for Mac.
2. From the screen that opens, click Open File Location.
3. iCoreServiceLauncher will open, and this will also open Full Disk Access of macOS.
4. Drag and drop iCoreServiceLauncher into macOS Full Disk Access.
5. After dragging and dropping it, a “Privacy & Security” authentication prompt will appear. Enter your Mac login username and password, then click Change Settings.
6. f “iCoreServiceLauncher” still doesn’t appear after completing the steps, click Confirm in the Trend Micro Antivirus for Mac Setup Guide and check if the setup has been completed.

• For macOS 26.1 and later, find “iCoreServiceLauncher APP” and “Trend Micro Antivirus Extension”, and enable each of them.
• Once enabled, the following pop-up will appear, enter your password and click "Change settings".
4. After completing the setup, click Confirm on the following screen to finish the configuration.
5. Open the main screen of Trend Micro Antivirus for Mac. If it shows “Protected,” it is now working properly.
