After signing-in to your account in Trend Micro VPN in Windows, you may encounter this error message.
Why did this happen?
- The VPN needs a security approval to work properly, and that step may not have finished during setup.
- The app may not have had enough permission on your computer to complete the installation.
What to do next
To fix this issue, you’ll need to reinstall Trend Micro VPN:
- Uninstall Trend Micro VPN – You’ll need to remove the current version from your computer. To do this, follow these steps.
- Click the Start button, then go to Settings > Apps > Apps & Features.
- From the list, choose Trend Micro VPN.
- Click Uninstall.
- Install Trend Micro VPN – Next, set up a fresh copy of the VPN so it works correctly. Follow these steps to install it.
- On your Windows computer, click the link below:
Download Trend Micro VPN on Windows - Click Download to get the installer.
- Open the downloaded file from your downloads folder and Click Install.
- Once installed, open the app and follow the on-screen instructions to complete the setup.
- Activate Trend Micro VPN – Finally, sign in and activate your VPN to make sure it’s ready for use. Follow these steps to complete activation.
- Open the Trend Micro VPN app.
- Click Sign In beside 'Already have a license?'.
- Enter your Trend Micro account details and click Sign in.
- Select Yes to use the available subscription.
- Choose Use this seat beside 'Unused' and click Allow.
NOTE: Trend Micro VPN is NOT compatible with ARM-based computers.
