If ID Protection Autofill isn’t appearing on your Android device, you’re not alone. This issue often arises due to changes in how Android manages autofill services. Here’s why it happens and how to fix it.
Why This Happens
- On older Android devices (versions 8–10), ID Protection's saved logins showed up above the keyboard automatically.
- On newer Android devices (version 11 and above), Google has changed how Autofill works.
- Google Password Manager is often set as the default.
- Chrome needs you to allow third-party providers before ID Protection can work.
As a result, you may see Google’s suggestions instead of ID Protection’s.
How to Fix It
Follow these two steps to make sure ID Protection works:
- Set ID Protection as Your Default Autofill:
- Go to Settings.
- Select System > Languages & input > Autofill service.
- Choose ID Protection.
- Enable ID Protection Inside Chrome
- Open Chrome > tap ⋮ (three dots ) > Settings.
- Go to Passwords and Autofill, then choose Autofill services.
- Select Autofill using another service.
Done! The next time you sign in on Chrome, ID Protection will show your saved logins.
