If your phone number is not showing to the person you are calling, and instead it appears as Private, Unknown, or No Caller ID, this usually means your Caller ID is hidden.
Why it happens?
- Caller ID is turned off in your phone settings.
- Your mobile carrier is blocking Caller ID by default.
- Temporary network or SIM issues may also cause your number not to display.
How to Show Your Number
For iPhone/iPad:
- Open Settings.
- Scroll down and tap Phone.
- Tap Show My Caller ID.
- Slide the switch ON.
For Android:
- Open your Phone app.
- Tap the 3 dots (⋮) or Menu.
- Go to Settings.
- Look for Caller ID or Show Number.
- Turn it ON.
If It Still Shows as Private
- Sometimes your phone company hides Caller ID by default.
- Call their customer service hotline and ask them to turn on Caller ID for your number.
