Having trouble accessing an App Clip? This quick guide will help you understand the issue and show you how to fix it.

Why This Happens

App Clips are designed to work only in Safari. If you attempt to launch them from other browsers (such as Chrome or Edge), the clip will not load and the licensed app cannot be downloaded. Additionally, App Clips will not work if Safari is in Private Browsing Mode.

What to Do

Use Safari Only

  • Always open App Clip links in Safari. Other browsers are not supported.

If You're Using Private Browsing Mode

App Clips won’t load in Private mode. Follow the steps below to exit Private Browsing in Safari:

  1. Open the Safari app.
  2. Tap the Tabs icon (two overlapping squares) in the bottom-right corner.
  3. If it says Private at the bottom, tap it.
  4. Choose [Number] Tabs or Start Page to return to normal browsing.
  5. Tap Done.
  6. Reopen the App Clip link in a regular Safari window.

If You Clicked “View in Safari” and It’s Not Loading

  1. Open the Settings app on your iOS device.
  2. Go to Safari > Clear History and Website Data.
  3. Confirm when prompted.
  4. Return to Safari and refresh the page.
