If you receive a subscription expired message when trying to activate the Trend Micro extension in Google Chrome, follow the steps below to resolve the issue.
Why did this happen?
- The license you are using is not currently protecting any other products or devices.
- The device you are using cannot be registered as the first or primary device on a Trend Micro Maximum Security or Security Suite license.
How do I fix it?
To resolve this issue, follow the steps below:
STEP 1: Register Your Subscription to Another Device
- On a Mobile Device:
- Download and install Trend Micro Mobile Security:
- Once installed, open the app and follow the on-screen instructions to activate your subscription.
- On a Desktop/Laptop:
- Download and install Trend Micro Security:
- Once installed, open the program and follow the on-screen instructions to activate your subscription.
STEP 2: Activate Trend Micro Security for Google Chrome or Chromebook
- Log in again with your Trend Micro Account:
- Open Trend Micro Security by clicking Trend Micro icon on the top right side on your browser. If you can't see it, click the Extension icon
to find it.
- Sign-in using your Trend Micro account.
- Open Trend Micro Security by clicking Trend Micro icon on the top right side on your browser. If you can't see it, click the Extension icon
- Verify the Activation:
- Once activated, open the Trend Micro Security extension, then check if it's activated and already protecting your browser.
