What is the issue?

The My Book Live device was discontinued in 2014 and has vulnerabilities that were not patched in the 2015 final firmware update.

What are its risks?

My Book Live contains a remotely exploitable vulnerability that allows commands to be run on the device as root.

  • Attackers can directly connect to affected devices with the IP address of the device and can trigger this bug.
  • Attackers can remotely wipe all data from My Book Live devices.
