Sent a Family Circle invitation in Trend Micro ScamCheck but the person can’t join?

Why This Happens

It’s usually caused by one of the following:

  1. The Invitation Has Expired

    Family Circle invitation links and QR codes are only valid for 24 hours.
    After this time, the link will no longer work and the person won’t be able to join your Circle.

    🔔 Tip: If they open the link and see an error or it won’t load, the invite may have expired.

  2. Your Circle Is Full

    Each plan has a maximum number of seats in your Family Circle.
    When your Circle is full:

    • The Invite Member option will disappear.
    • New invites will not be accepted.

What You Should Do Next

  1. Check if the invite expired: Send a new invitation link or QR code.
  2. Check available seats: Go to Family Circle and confirm if you have space.
  3. If your Circle is full, remove someone you no longer need in the Circle.
  4. Ask the invited person to:
    1. Install or open Trend Micro ScamCheck.
    2. Enable AI Protection.
    3. Set up SMS Filter, Call Block, and Web Guard.

After Setup

Once the invited person follows the setup steps and a seat is available, they will automatically appear in your Family Circle list.
