Why did this happen?

A Network Time Protocol Denial of Service vulnerability was detected on your network.

What are its risks?

This vulnerability allows the attacker to overflow Windows-based systems, causing it to crash. If a vulnerable instance of ntpd on Windows receives a crafted malicious packet that is too big, ntpd will stop working.

What should I do next?

  • Download the latest update from your router’s website. Show me how.
  • Change the default password of the router and create a much stronger password. Check your router’s manual or handbook for the instructions on changing your router’s password. Show me how.
