How Do You Fix It?
Here's a step-by-step guide to resolve the 'Invalid Activation Code' error:
- Re-type your activation code:
- If you purchased online: Look for the 20-digit activation code in your Order Confirmation Email.
- If you bought from a retail store: Find the code on the product box or receipt.
- If you have an existing subscription: Log in to your Trend Micro Account to access your license information.
Remember, the format is typically like this: AAAA-0000-0000-0000-0000, where 'A' represents a letter and '0' represents a number.
- Enter the activation code accurately and click Apply.
- If the problem persists, download the correct installer file based on how you obtained the program.
- If you purchased it online or from a retail store
- If you purchased it through Best Buy
- If it comes with your Internet Service Provider (ISP)

For New User
Create your Trend Micro account:
- Go to Activation Portal.
- Click Get Started.
- Enter your email or mobile number, click Next.
- Create your own password, click Next again.
- Fill in your details to complete your profile.
- Enter the activation code/serial number and proceed to activate.
- Go back to the Trend Micro Installation Window and retype in the activation code/serial number.
Already have a Trend Micro account?
Sign in with your Trend Micro Account:
- Click the Sign In button on Option 1.
- Type in your email and password to log in.
- Follow the prompts, and your protection will be activated in no time!
Got a New Activation Code?
Activate your new activation code:
- Go to Activation Portal.
- Click the "Or sign in to your Trend Micro Account" link under the Get Started button.
- Sign in with your email/phone and password.
- Enter that new activation code, and then go back to the Trend Micro Installation window to retype it.
