This error occurs because the file you are trying to delete is currently in use by another program or process.

How can I fix this error?

  1. Press CTRL + SHIFT + ESC simultaneously to open the Task Manager.
  2. Click on the Processes tab to view all active programs.
  3. Find and right-click the program using the file, then select End task.
  4. Return to the Trend Micro program window to check if the file is now selectable.
  5. Try to delete the file again by clicking Remove.
