When installing or opening Trend Micro VPN and accepting the End User License Agreement (EULA), you may encounter the error message:

"Unable to Continue"

Why did this happen?

The setup couldn’t finish because it wasn’t allowed to put some files where they needed to go. This can happen if certain Trend Micro VPN services are turned off or don’t have permission to run properly.

How to Fix This

Follow these steps to resolve the Unable to Continue error in Trend Micro VPN:

  1. Press Windows + R on your keyboard.
  2. Type services.msc and press Enter.
  3. In the list, look for Trend Micro VPN Controller.
  4. If the service is Disabled, right-click it and select Properties.
  5. Under Startup type, change it from Disabled to Automatic.
  6. Click Apply, then OK.
  7. Close the window and open Trend Micro VPN again.
  8. You should now see the Promotions and Sign-in screen.
  9. Sign in to your Trend Micro account.
  10. Tap the Power button to turn it on.

Tip: Restart your computer if the VPN still doesn’t start to ensure all services run correctly.
