You have received a notification that App Stop will no longer be supported on your mobile device after upgrading to Android version 14. The App Stop icon on your home screen is grayed out and unable to be accessed.

Why did this happen?

The App Stop feature will not be available for Android 14 OS and above due to Google Play's restrictions on features that stop background services. As a result, the App Stop feature won't work properly due to these changes.

App Freeze will replace App Stop, which stops running apps and prevents their processes from running in the background and showing in-app notifications.

What should I do next?

Since Trend Micro has replaced App Stop with App Freeze, the App Stop shortcut icon won't work anymore. Remove it by following the instructions below:

  1. Long tap the App Stop icon on the Home Screen.
  2. Tap remove or drag the icon to the trash bin.
