Fix Unable to Download the File Error when Downloading Trend Micro Security on Windows

You see this error message when trying to download the Trend Micro Security installer:

"Unable to download the file. Make sure the computer has a working connection to the Internet before trying again."

How do I Fix this?

Try a different method to download Trend Micro Security.

1. Log onto your computer using an account with administrator privileges.
2. Check if your computer meets the system requirements to run the program.
3. Pick one option to download Trend Micro Security:
1. Download the installer from your Trend Micro Account.
1. Visit https://account.trendmicro.com/.
2. Click Sign in.
3. Enter email address or phone number.
4. Click Download Tab.
5. Click Download under Maximum Security.
6. Click Download to This Device.
2. Download the installer by visiting in our Downloads page:
   Trend Micro Downloads Page
3. Use the direct link to download the installer:
• If activation code starts with an X, download the Maximum Security installer.
• If activation code starts with a P, download the Internet Security installer.
• If activation code starts with an A, download the Antivirus+ Security installer.
4. Right-click the installer file, then select Run as administrator.
5. Follow the prompts to proceed with the installation.
