What should I do next?

Check Folder Shield Configuration

Pop-up warnings may often occur for large files and system files when they're protected by Folder Shield and accessed. It is advisable to only add important files such as confidential documents, personal information, and credentials to Folder Shield for Ransomware protection:

  1. Open Trend Micro and click on the Data tab.
  2. Click on Configure next to Folder Shield.
  3. Click OK on the introduction window to proceed.
  4. Under the list of Protected Folders, check for any System Files added, such as:
    • (C:)\Windows\System32
    • (C:)\Windows\SysWOW64
  5. Click the X button beside the folders to stop the protection.
  6. Also, check for folders containing large file sizes and remove them from protection.
