Before you follow any instructions shown in the email, here are important details you need to watch out:
- Check if the email is sent from a public email domain. Trend Micro uses its own domain (@trendmicro.com) for email addresses.
- Check if the contact number is correct. Click here for our official hotline numbers.
If you are suspicious that the email is not from us, you can simply IGNORE and NOT REPLY to the email. DO NOT CALL them either.

Where To Report Fake Emails
To report fake renewal emails, you can easily submit a request by following these steps:
- Go to the Email and Submit a Trend Micro Support Case portal.
- Select "I need help with something else" from the options presented, and then specify your product.
- In the Subject field, type "Fake Renewal Email" to ensure your report is directed to the appropriate team for investigation.
- In the "What's going on?" section, provide answers to the following questions:
- Email address of the sender: Provide the email address from which the fake renewal email originated. This information helps in identifying patterns and potential sources of the fraudulent emails.
- Email address where you received the fake email: Share the email address where you received the suspicious email. This assists in tracking the dissemination of the fake emails and identifying potential targets.
- Hotline number you see on the email: If the fake email includes a hotline number, provide it here. This allows for cross-referencing with known scam numbers and helps in flagging fraudulent contacts.
- Where you received the email (on your PC or mobile): Specify the platform or device where you received the fake renewal email. This information aids in understanding the scope of the scam and potential vulnerabilities across different platforms.
- Do you have an active subscription?: Indicate whether you currently hold an active subscription with the relevant service provider. This detail can help in assessing the targeting strategies of scammers and identifying potential motives behind the fake renewal email campaign.
- Fill out the remaining details to complete the form.
