Summary

Trend Micro has released an updated version of Trend Micro Password Manager 5.0 (Windows) that resolves a DLL hijacking vulnerability in both the standalone version of the product and the versions packed with the latest version of Trend Micro Security (Consumer).

Trend Micro has addressed these vulnerabilities via a patch that is available now through the product’s automatic ActiveUpdate (AU) feature for all products listed above - including both the standalone version and the versions bundled with Trend Micro Security (consumer).  Customers who receive regular automatic updates from the Internet should have already received the update.

Vulnerability Details

This update resolves a DLL hijacking vulnerabilty in Trend Micro Password Manager 5.0 on Windows which could potentially allow an attacker privileged escalation.

Trend Micro has received no reports nor is aware of any actual attacks against the affected product related to this vulnerability at this time.
